Library
Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life.
To fuel the imagination, to open the windows to the world and inspire young minds to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving the quality of life the school provides a well
furnished library managed by able and qualified librarians. To inculcate the reading habit, every child, right from preparatory school is exposed to the immeasurable world of books.
The library for tiny tots is full of fairy tales, little adventure stories, fables, comics etc. The main library is equipped with a copious array of Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries,
Biographies, Fiction and Non-fiction books to gratify the unending quest for knowledge. The school library follows an open access system for classes 3 to 12 whereby the students
visit the library in the period assigned to them. They spend quality time going through book shelves, selecting the book and reading. The books are issued to them for a fortnight.
The library extends beyond its physical boundaries by lending books to various laboratories and the senior students enjoy the privilege of issuing subject related books
from the library. More over news papers and periodicals are also provided to update the current knowledge.
Labs
Laboratory teaching provides the first-hand experience and Laboratory training is required to develop skills necessary for study and research. In Ahlcon International School,
teacher–student and peer-to peer interactions contribute to develop learning experiences from the laboratory exercise, which can help them in experimentation, research
and exploration. We provide physics, chemistry, biology and computer labs to our students.
Physics Lab: St Annes Public School is proud to have a sophisticated Physics Laboratory with the latest state-of-the art facilities that equip the students to have a hands on experience. The Flat-topped tables used as student workstations allow multiple arrangements and combinations for laboratory work and small-group activities. The equipment ranges from the commonly found lens, magnet, beam balance, spring balance, glass prism to the advanced apparatus like voltmeter, ammeter and resistors and spectrometers to name a few. The laboratory is also equipped with an Interactive board and an LCD projector that allows the teachers to incorporate the latest technology in their lessons to arouse the interest and curiosity of the students. Furthermore, the spacious physics lab is designed in a way to accommodate students comfortably.
Chemistry Lab: The Chemistry Lab is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners and plug points. The apparatus includes the commonplace strikers, mortar and pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.
Biology Lab: The Biology laboratory apparatus ranges from simple slides, test-tube, petridishes, Bunsen burners, beakers and flasks to the composite microscopes of varying powers to observe samples and organisms closely. They are high-powered, extremely expensive, and sensitive pieces of equipment that can make even the smallest parts of a single cell seem clear. All the microscopes are provided with digital eyepieces with built in 10 x cameras are a great way to preview live colour digital images directly from microscope to the computer via a USB port.
House System
In order to foster a healthy competition spirit and create a sense of belonging, each child is included in a house. Each house will have a teacher representative.
All learning oriented programmes or extra curricular activities may be the focus of competitions. Result of all such competitions will be graded and recorded.
Open House
Periodic interaction between teachers and parents are are highly essential for the proper upbringing of the student. Keeping this in view, after each examination, open house
programmes are conducted in the school. Parents can meet the class teacher and subject teachers to know about the academic performance, discipline, behaviour and attitude
of their wards.
